Server Host for AOL (AIM)

I can't seem to get aol to connet, can anyone tell me (who can get it to work) what host server they are using? Thanks.

I use the default one. Are you able to connect to the Internet?

Yeah I do everything with my axim on the internet. We have wireless on campus here so I check my email and surf and all kinds of stuff. I got the AIM from the UK site so I was wondering if maybe it used a different server than we would in the US.

Alright I have the US version and it connects to login.oscar.aol.com on port 5190

Make sure you have it installed in main memory... when I was using it, it would run from a memory card, but woudn't connect.

Perhaps your campus is blocking the port AIM uses (a bit unlikely but possible). In either case, I too use the UK version and it also connects to login.oscar.aol.com on port 5190. Have you tried using AIM Express ( http://www.aim.com/get_aim/express/aim_expr.adp?aolp= ), I haven't used in with my PocketPC, but thats what I use when I'm running Linux.

I really don't know how (but i guess thats how it happens sometimes) I got it to work. Somehow in my durnken stuper(sp?) I got it to work. :D Thank you guys so much for you help.

GRR nevermind it did not work. I keep getting the sign on message to pop back up at me anyone know why that might be? It looks like I am signed on but when i try to send a message it wants me to sign on again?!?! Oh also I eliminated the possiblilty of our campus blocking it because I connected to my neighbors connection, with his permission, and it still didn't work.

make sure u r connected to the internet by opening IE and going to a site. Sometimes i think i am connected but i am not so i rescan or renew ip.
