Browsing wired network

I've read it's possible to access shared folders on an Axim without any special software, just type the computer name in using File Explorer. Can anyone tell me how to do this? I've tried both my computer's IP address and it's name, and both of these with and without the shared folder's name with no luck. It keeps saying I have to set up a VPN network or Proxy.

My axim accesses the internet just fine. My setup is a D-Link DWL-900AP+ access point, and a D-Link DCF-660W Wifi card. I access the internet using a Linksys router. I've got static IPs in both my PDA and the server I'm trying to connect to. All my other computers can see the server just fine, so there's no problem with it.

I just added details for using the file explorer to the WiFi How-to (linked from my signature) today. It also describes the other settings and discusses some troubleshooting.

Specifically you need to check the Work and Internet settings by the sound of it :) go throug the FAQ and pay specific attention to those bits.

Another question... Is there anyway that files could be opened over the network without copying them to RAM? Even just a way they automatically go there, and then delete themselfs after I close them? I guess that would get annoying for stuff like MP3s, but things like pictuers, it would be nice...

Resco WILL open files directly over the network while the built in explorer requires you to copy them.

Hmm, I figured it would. Well, I was trying to not spend any money, seeing as file explorer will work. Oh well, I guess I can just copy myself. Most of access is just to copy MP3s to my PDA ;P
