I had install the beta drivers when I first got it. I have been using it for over a month now. The only thing is that I do not have that meter / icon at the bottom of my screen. Is there anyway where I can get that without messing up my install insulation?

I noticed us Europeans' get a newer version of the driver.
(From the readme file)
The Cisco-Linksys LLC.
Product: WCF12 (European version only)
Classification: Driver Release History
Release Date: May 4, 2004
Setup Wizard: v1.2
http://www.linksys.com/international...d=6&intdlid=14

Perhaps a brave man, (or woman) from the States might want to give this a go and see how it performs on US Axims.
Note. If it doesn't work for you, then you might require a hard reset.

I'm waiting for my WCF12 card to arrive and while I was waiting decided to search the forum for info. Found lmtuxinc's directions and have a question, "What would be my SSID?".
Also, what is dhcp?

your ssid can be what ever you want to set it to on your wireless access point. if you are in a public place, the ssid will usually be told to you.

OK, I'm connected but can't get IE to connect. Do I use Avantgo or what? I also didn't see a connections tab or a Network adapters tab. It shows a strong signal but I get nowhere. HELP!!

Okay, so you're connected. Do you have an IP address? I use a free utility called PocketDHCP Here
If you're not getting an IP address, start troubleshooting there. 169.x.x.x addresses don't count. You'll need a 10.x.x.x or 192.x.x.x
If you've got an IP address, can you ping your access point or router? You can get TCP-IP tools Here
If you're able to ping your WAP or Router, can you ping 66.94.230.37? Yes? Can you ping www.yahoo.com? No? Check DNS server settings.
GL and let us know.

wilmiester - I downloaded PocketDHCP and installed it. Somehow while playing around, I got connected. However, using PocketDHCP, my IP Address is all zeros, but my DHCP Server shows as my home network 192 etc.
But I'm online, at least for a while, but only to Yahho and Aximsite.
Back to setting up. I have no connection tab or network adapters tab.
It is best to delete everything and start over?
Thanks. D.

Starting over wouldn't be too painful and most likely will yield favorable results. After making sure all the drivers were removed/deleted, I would perform a softrest and follow lmtuxinc's instructions to the letter.
BTW, when your IP address was showing all zeros, did you hit the refresh to see if it would properly display the IP address?

Yes, I did do a refresh to check the IP addresses.
Another question. After I change the .zip file to .cab, and move it to my Axim, am I not supposed to execute it? It didn't appear to do it.
When I run PocketDHCP, the description is "PRISMNDS1". Isn't it supposed to be "PRISMNDS"?
I was able to get online 1 time only.
I'll try to start all over. Thanks.

Seems like you should have seen some activity when opening the .cab file, but I don't recall.
My description under the DHCP app is also PRISMNDS1
Let me know how the re-installation goes.

Is there a particular folder that the cab file should be in? Not real sure if I removed all of the previous install as I don't know where the CD files were placed.

I don't think that you should have to put the .cab file in a specific folder. I generally run all .cab files from my activesync directory on the X5; meaning I will drag the .cab file to my synch folder on my PC, allow the two to synch and then launch from the Dell.
There appears to be a Linksys directory under Program Files. Check also under Windows\Startup. If the uninstall doesn't get them, look also for Linksys Wireless CompactFlash Card.dll under windows\appmgr and Linksys Wireless CompactFlash Card.unload in the Windows directory.
If you want to really get down and dirty, you may want to sweep the registry for any Linksys entries. Only go there realizing that you may have to perform a hard reset (clear the device) if you do something wrong.

I'm confused. After I rename the .zip file to .cab, it still shows as a zip file. I copy it to my PDA using Activesync and I thought that that converted it to a file accessible by the PDA. When I open the .cab file it doesn't appear to do anything. Do I just let it be and go ahead with the install of the driver from the other file?
