Active sync over wifi in a windows 2000 network

Hi,

We are looking at getting about 3 dozen Dell Axim x3i's for some of our employees. I want to set it up so when they enter the office they can sync over wifi.

But to do this will they need to be logged in?

Or could I setup one computer in each office with active sync running and let them all use that one. But how will that work with each one getting there email and only there email.

Before we order all the wireless equipment I just thought I would ask and see if someone knows.

They can sync with their PCs, if their PCs are logged in. Or if you use the Exchange Server addon, they can sync direct with an exchange server.

I can't remember the name of the Exchange add-on. Sorry. It'll be something obvious though.

Thanks for the reply.

I think the add on is called Microsoft Mobile Information Server 2002. And its discontinued. From what I am reading if we had exchange 2003 and not 2000 this would be easy. Looks like I might need to upgrade. But with our corporate office moving in 2 weeks that will have to be put on the back burner.

Thanks for the help.

Lol! Ironically it's called Exchange Activesync. It's native in ES2003 and an add-in for 2000. I agree that this is the cleanest approach.
