There are a few hotspots I can connect to around here, but I am wondering about the settings for most hotspots. Do I need to put it on Work? The Internet? And all of the other various settings..is it just trial and error when trying to connect?

if your getting on a free network which is public, then all you have to do is turn on wi-fi and your x3i should connect right to it and you can browse the web. thats how it works on mine;

Yes connection should be "work" not "internet", if that doesn't work you can try internet, however it probably won't make a difference if it didn't connect using "work", I have always been able to connect with "work" as default. Simply enable your wi-fi a screen will ask if you want to connect.

ok, thanks....i just sent back my x3i for a x30 mid..hope that all works out well....
