-I own a D-Link DI-614+ wireless router in my home, and i was wondering, if i were to get the Dell AximX30, would i get really good distance in my house? Or would i be only limited to feet away from my router to use the internet on the Axim?
I looked up model 614, but cant find it, are you refering
to the 514? if so then
a few users have reported that their x30 does not
work with it... however I have a dlink 514 and my
x30 works fine with it... I also have (am getting)
a dlink range extender (My router is in the basement
and I can access it anywhere in the house and around
the parameter... when I get my range extender I'll leave
it upstairs and hopefully get further out in my yard...
(I have tested my router upstairs and get decent range)

I am using a different rounter, Netgear mr814v2, but I have a range of a little over 300 feet and still maintaining pretty good signal strength. I was very impressed when I measured that off.
That's one of those "how long is a piece of string" questions. There are many factors that affect Wifi range. And of course since probably no-one here know how big your house is it's even harder.
As long as you can install the router in a fairly central point of the house though you'll probably be fine. I use the DI-624 and get great range with it.

I have the D-Link DI-614+ and used it with my X5's and the X30. I finally had it when I had to hold the Ax just a certain way to get a signal when only about 30 feet from the router. I just got a Microsoft MN-500 for $29 (that's the reason I got it, not because it's supposed to be a super long-range transmitter) and I can now get a signal everywhere in my yard and up to three houses down my block. I have finally weaned myself away from all 3 of the D-Link wireless devices I formerly had.
I have had no issues with my 614+. In fact, I get BETTER range to my 614+ with my X5 & SMC EZConnect than I do with the internal InterSil WiFi on my Fujitsu SubNotebook.
My 614+ is on a shelf in the telephone closet of our 20'x100' brick office building. I can easily talk to the 'Net with my Axim from out back in the parking lot (inside my '68 VW, through 2 partition walls & a 6" brick wall), about 200' away from the antennas. I run about 80% signal at 200 feet (clear + some 1/4" glass) outside the front of our building.
