Hi,
did anyone here ever connected his Dell Axim to the internet via a cell phone (gprs connection) and not with the Infra Red but with a cable?

if so,
what kind of cell phone do u have?
and where did u purchase the cable?

I will be connecting my Axim to my Nextel i85s cell phone (once my Axim and data cable arrives). If you call your cell phone company, they will have the necessary data cables that you'll need to accomplish this feat. Mine told me I had to get a cable from them AND get another data cable from thesupplynet.com. Of course, since the Axim is fairly new, they won't be done manufacturing my data cable until the middle of March. So i'll have to wait another month before I can use it... Ho-hum....

What is your cell phone provider?

I use a Bluetooth CF card and a Nokia 6310i Phone w/ ATTW gsm/GPRS service. No cable, phone in my pocket, walking thru the mall internet. Cool!

I have a Dell Axim X5 400mhz. Recently I bought a bluetooth card device for my PDA with hopes that I could get on the Internet using my Nokia 6340 cellular phone as a modem. I loaded the Data connect modem information from the CD that Cingular provides. I’m connecting my cellular phone to my PDA using a data cable. I’m making a connection but I keep receiving the error “Bad request your browser sent a query this server could not understand” in Internet Explorer. I was wondering if something is wrong with my Internet Explorer on my PDA. If so, how do I correct this problem?

I have a Nextel i95cl and attempted to connect my Axim to the internet using the data cable provided by Nextel with very little success. In frustration, I have purchased a data cable from Gomadic and to my suprise I was able to connect to the Net on the first attempt. Gomadic has great cables to connect your Axim to you cellphone. Heck, they even will let you exchange your data cable if you switch cellphones or PDAs.

Some web pages look for Internet explorer6.0 or greater. PIE is 3.0. Ther is a hack to correct this, it is especially needed for some of the financial sites. I will try to remember where I read that.
