Hello Everybody

I have bought Axim and now I am trying to connect to the Internet. I would like to know if it is possible throught Ir port and Cell phone Ericsson T39i. I don't have any null modem cable,which is needed acording to the Help. What kind of cable is that. Do I really need it or can I substitute it with Ir connection.

Hi!

Connecting to the internet with your Dell Axim using the IR port is very much possible when using the an IR enabled phone. Try to beam both IR ports aligned, if your Axim can detect your mobile phone. If it does, then try to configure your dial-up connection and your done. I've tried this setup using Nokia 8250 and it works.

If you want to connect to something like a laptop (which has an IR port) you have to install active sync, connect the Axim to the laptop with the cradle (or sync cable) for the first time to create a partnership.
After that you should be able to remove the cable and connect the Axim to the laptop via IR, and start Active sync. At this point you would be able to use the laptop's connection to the internet to browse the internet with the Axim.
You need to be running Active Sync to get to the internet.
