i just had a quick question. i wanted to connect to the internet using sprint pcs vision... i have a lg 5350.

according to the pocketsolution website

Hi,
I am not sure about using the Axim with a phone on the Sprint network but I have looked into using the Axim on the network after reading about the features on the Sprint web site and this is what I know.
First you need a Wireless Flash Sprint PCS Connection Card, model # 2031 cost at $229.95
Then you will have to contact Sprint to activate the ESN number which will be activated with a phone number just like your phone.
So far from what I know you can share the minutes on your plan. I looked at people like t-mobile and they have a similar set-up that acts just like a phone as well and has the same type of plan service.
I'll be honest I haven't activated yet becuase I am looking at Boingo instead. I think that the Sprint solution is going to be expensive and I will probably be a consumer ginny pig if I know them.
T-Mobiles WiFi service is restricted to only Starbucks, where Boingo has a much more robust network as it appears.
I am flying to Chicago today and I am going to give Boino a try.
Best of Luck
Markus

I have a LG 5350 and a Gomadic cable. I have the Vision service on the phone and can connect either with that or with my dial-up service. I live in the boonies and will never see the likes of DSL at my house, so I have dial-up. I just set up two different connections - one to Sprint Vision and one to my dial-up. I'm still in my 3-month free trial on the Vision service, otherwise I probably wouldn't have it.

Anyway, both methods work great for me. As a matter of fact, we checked the movies times on-line at a restaurant Saturday when we decided to see a show at the spur of the moment. My son thought I was really cool! :D

thanks for the feed back. Just before I left I called Boing to do the set-up and they informed me they haven't even written the drivers for the Axim yet.
So I proceeded with the Sprint service. It was a bit tough to get someone who new what they were doing to work through the steps, but I finaly approached it on my own and after changing some settings on my account from my access page at sprintpcs.com I am up and running.
Now I just have to fiqure out how to format my mail server with the Axim while on line with their service to send mail out. I have no problem running my POP3 settings to get mail in.
My wife thinks I'm cool too, but a little tech crazy.
What I love most about this service is I can use the Compat Flash modem in my laptop and I can now get rid of my AOL account for travel.
That saves me $ 30.00 a month and those "you've got mail" updates.
Regards,
Markus

I currently have Spring Vision with Samsung A500, contacted Gomadic, the tech said the only Spring Vision phone that will let you connect at the higher speeds is the LG 5350 (he said in testing it ranged from 56 to 100 Kps!). All of the newer phones have a USB connector and you can't connect usb to usb. The LG has a dual serial and usb.
