MA701, Wireless Router and ActiveSync

I've got a NetGear MA701 in my Axim and a Belkin Wireless router connected to my PC.

Now the Axim connects fine to the router and gets an IP address no problems and can bbrowse the internet BUT it won't connect to ActiveSync.

No idea why - the only things I can think of is it can't resolve my pc name to an IP address, or b) my router assigns 192.168.2.* ip addresses and ActiveSync wants 192.168.1.* addresses.

I have to admin to guessing a bit here but I'm stuck. Anyone offer any ideas?

Solved it

OK Solved it - needed to create a hostname to ip address mapping using PocketHosts.

Get it from here http://www.zimac.de/cestuff.htm

Just now need to figure out why it disconnecs as soon as it has finished syncing and stop that behaviour

Any Chance of getting step-by-step instructions once you've worked it all out?

I've the same NetGear MA701 Wireless card and can't seem to find out how to do this from start to finish!

In ActiveSync on the Axim while it is not connected, Tools, Options, Schedule, uncheck "When synchronizing remotely ..."

If you work out a step by step guide please PM me. I've planned to work on it this weekend and any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

seems like overkill..

i could just put my axim on the network (via linksys router) and made sure the 'remote' connection' option was checkd on the desktop side,

and on the axim side, the remote connect to XXX was fileld in (auto filled with my comp name)

I *do* need to make sure my connection setings tab is set to 'work'

I also notice that the ma701 has trouble getting a dynamic ip address all the time.. sometimes is cake.. othertimes i reset / pull card / release renew to no avail.

switching to intersil/prisim drivers and using winec fixed this perfectly.
