Comcast/Wifi/sending emails problem

I just got this thing - how can I be accessing the internet and receiving emails but I CANNOT send - I freq get an "Invalid Server Certificate number" error message.

I'm new to PCs - what does this mean? ARRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHH

I just switched ISPs to a DSL provider, and found that I couldn't send emails from my domain any more. Silly me, as of course I had to change SMTP servers. Although... oddly I'd never encountered this issue when using open public access points... Anyway, you might want to contact your provider and ask about SMTP settings in your email client, see if this has to be changed.

I have no problems but I use Yahoo web mail.
Give more details as to what you are using.

I use comcast.net and can send/receive emails without any problems. Here's my entries in the account settings (the italized entries are optional):
Page 1:
your_user_name@comcast.net
Page 2:
Your Name
your_user_name
your_password
"Save password" checked
Page 3:
Account type: Pop3
Name: Comcast
Page 4:
mail.comcast.net
smtp.comcast.net
nothing in the domain name - this is important, it will not work if you enter anything here.
Options (1/3)
"Connect and ..." checked
10 minutes
Connection: The Internet
Options (2/3)
"Outgoing e-mail server..." checked
other two boxes on this page unchecked
Options (3/3)
Get full copy of messages
====================================
Alternatively, you can use the IP numbers on page 4. This helps if your DNS is flaky/slow:
Incoming mail: 204.127.198.10
Outgoing mail: 204.127.202.27

Also, use a registry editor to
1. For registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox, create new DWORD ForceOffSSL and give it a value of 1.
2. Soft-reset device (or stop (kill) Inbox and restart Inbox)

I have the same exact problem. If you find a solution, please let me know.

Thanks,
Bob

This worked perfectly!

Thank you for this post! I followed your directions and was sending POP3 e-mail and syncing wirelessly in less that 5-minutes. This post shouldbe at the top of every Axim list!
Juat to let you know, I have been with Dell support at least 15 times overthis issue.

Again, than :approve: ks!

Bob

The fix worked for me!

Try this fix from Ike. I tried it and was sending POP3 e-mail and syncing wirelessly in 5-minutes! I've been going round and round with Dell "lack-of-support" for 3-monthes trying to get this device to work as advertised!

Good luck, Bob
