Question WiFi and Wireless Dial-up??

I have a Linksys WCF12 card for my Axim that allows me to send/receive e-mail, browse the web, etc. while at home through my wireless home network. This works great.

I also know that it is possible to connect using a dial-up connection by connecting my Axim to my cell phone. This would be convenient when away from home (my cellular service has free roaming and toll-free).

My ISP supports dial-up connection, but I have not yet attempted to connect using my cell phone. I am considering purchasing the Gomadic Wireless Internet Cable that will connect the Axim to my cell phone. However, I want to make sure it will not be more of a hassle then its worth.

My question is: Is it difficult to maintain both types of connection configurations? That is, can I have both "setups" and simply select the method I want to use to connect depending on the situation (i.e. home configuration, or road configuration)? I don't want to have to make a bunch of configuration changes each time I want to connect.

Anyone else doing something similar??
