The Dlink Air DCF-660W CF card is my choice of the lot. I used to work at an electronics store, so I have tried just about all of the cards at various distances from the AP we had instore. The Dlink had the best performance (at least in that environment), so that is the main reason I chose it. As a side note, the silver/gray color of the D-Link Card almost perfectly matches the look of the Axim. :) I've used it for about 1 1/2 months now, with no problems at all. Have used it with a Dlink AP Router, Siemens Speedstream AP Router, and with a few different Cisco networks set up on Univ. of Alabama campus. Great performance on all tested networks so far.
Can't participate in the poll because I've only tried one CF card: Netgear MA701. I have been completely happy with it - no problems during the 2 weeks I've used it.
From what I've seen the "socket communications" card fits in the slot of the axim best with the least amount of stuff sticking out, but it is really $$$
I like my netgear ma701. It works great, and good range! Battery usage is pretty average. It doesent stick out very much and does not block the headphone jack either!
I feel like the odd man out here, but I have a Socket Communications low power CF Type One WLAN card that works great. It is especially impressive with battery life.
I use a dell router/AP.
BTW, I am impressed with Dell's 802.11b wireless equipment, with which I've networked 3 desktops, a laptop and the Axim, so maybe their card (which wasn't available when I bought my AximX5-400 in December) deserves a vote.

Yep, I think the Socket CF card rocks too!!!! Heck, the whole Axim thing rocks. I can't believe the computing power I can hold in one hand. The keyboard is AWESOME, SD & CF expansion, 64 megs of memory, MP3 capability, word, excel, access, powerpoint, etc., all the apps I use the most on my desktop are right there. I can take the axim and keyboard to the lazyboy and surf as fast as I can with my laptop (minus screen size and other limitations), but man! I'm excited about my NEW PDA. Beats the crap out of my Kyocera Palm powered smartphone in most instances.

Speaking of other favorite toys:
1. Chevy Avalanche 1500 (z66) LOADED
2. Sony DCR-TRV 27 miniDV camcorder
3. My custom, self built 1.8GHz PC, 1GB PC133, GeForce4Ti4400, SB Audigy Platinum eX, etc., etc., etc.
4. Kodak DX 4900?3900 still 3.0megapixel cam
I'm not even going to start with the wife and kids...of course they're not really toys although sometimes I'd like to stuff them in a toy box ROFL. j/k. Love 'em to death.
The Socket 802.11 card has a variable power use slider to go between best performance & lowest power usage.
I use mine at home where there's always a spare battery, so mine is set to max performance....if muti-tasking, I can get a solid 3 hrs. of constant usage. If I keep apps closed as I quit using them, then I get about 4. Keep in mind I'm talking continuous use, and yes I've sat right here in this chair witbout taking my eyes off the screen that long...
That's my experience with the card. It also has great range in my experience.
