After reading the forms a little, it seemed most people with att couldnt get there phone (t68) to be used as a modem because they thought ATT dosent allow this. After looking on the att site, it dosent state anywere that they dont allow phones to be used as modems, they even have settings to help you a little, but the settings on there site are wrong.

To set up your t68i to be used as a modem if you got your phone directly from ATT you dont have to do anything to your phone.
First make sure your bluetooh is working ok, then setup your conection settings.

Start>Settings>Connections>Connections
make a new connection called "whateveryouwant"
Choose your bluetooh as the modem (or IR if that floats your boat)
If bluetooh change the Baud rate to 115200, Tap Next
Change the area code to "123"
Use this as the phone number *99***1# with the stars
Tap Next and uncheck "wait for credit card tone" Tap Finish then OK
When you connect dont put anyting in for user name and password if it ask you to, just check remember password and you should be online if all is well.

These Settigs are great - and work if you want to connect either using bluetooth or IR to the net.

However they use GPRS - which is nice and quick, but usually expensive.

So what i would like to know is how does one do the same if they want to connect using just GSM.

I have tried just typing in the ISP phone number in the AXIM to dial - however it doesnt work for me - it dials for a few seconds then disappears off the T68 screen.

I have also tried creating a new data account (over GSM) cannot assign it a CID number therefore cant dial it - so if i try i get an error "wrong APN (a GPRS Setting of some sort)".
PLEASE HELP ME????

Hello, i'm leaving in France and i wondered if it was possible to connect my Axim to a T68I without troubles, i have SFR france as a provider, i downloaded for free a software for the pocket PC wich allows you to connect trhough you T68i either in GPRS mode or GSM mode, everything is pregonfired, i asked what to do when i go next week to Belgium, and they told me just change the number from 33 (France) to 32 (Belgium) for the country, so it is maybe worth that you try it het is the link : http://www.sfr.fr
