power usage issues

does anyone have any issues with the netgear ma701 draining battery usage? i accidentally ordered the netgear and the ambicom from compusa and plan on returning the latter. my brother bought the card from dell and he says it works fine and doesnt drain too much. i just dont wanna say, be out on the go, using the keyboard and the card at the same time and find myself with only an hour of battery life. so yeah.. tell me what you guys think.

There is only on CF WiFi card that really claims to be a low pwer alternative, that being the Socket Low Power card. I have the NetGear, and it does pull quite a bit from the battery. How ever, i only use my WiFi for a quick sync, to pull email, and an occasional browse. If you are concerend about battery usage while on WiFi, your options include:

1. Deal with it and browse less
2. Chuck your current card and get a Socket
3. Get a battery extender like the one at Semsons
