Internet Connection Sharing

I am very new to Networking and am trying to figure out how to share my Dialup Internet Connection thru my "Linksys Wireless-B Broadband Router" using ICS on my Main Windows XP computer which is connected to the internet by dialup. I have tried everything I can think of but cant figure out how to do it. I tried the set up a home network thing and internet connection sharing thru the network, but I cant figure out how to get it to work with my axim, is there any way to do this?

Thanks,
TVT

I dont know. I have the same setup myself (XpHome SP2) and my axim occasionally takes a little while to get the IP, but thats it. Sorry I couldnt be more help. As I have offered in the past, If you have VNC on your computer, Id be willing to access it and ensure all the settings are correct. Feel free to PM me if you are willing to go that route

TVT, you said you "tried the set up a home network thing." Do you mean the guide linked from my signature? If that's not what you were referring to, look at the Alternate Setups section.

The things to keep in mind are that the router cannot function as a router - ICS handles this function, so turn it off in the router settings. Also, Linksys uses the 192.168.0.1 as its IP number which is the same as ICS uses. You need to change the router's IP. I seem to remember someone saying they needed to plug the ethernet cable from their PC into one of the router's LAN ports although it seems to me it should be the WAN port. That's something that's easy to try both ways once all the other settings are in place.

Alright, I have done all of that in the alternate setups section accept for one thing. I cant figure out how to do this step on the PPC:
"On computer B and on the PPC, make the Gateway and DNS 192.168.0.1 (Which will be computer A)"

I finally figured out how to do that but now whenever I try to load a page in IE or anything, its saying "Unable to connect: You have no modem entries created, and no network card present" The dell utility says im connected to my Wifi. Any Ideas?

In the network settings - Start, Settings, Connections (tab), Connections, Set up my Proxy server. On the Proxy server tab, have the top box (This network connects to the Internet) but leave everything else on this page blank. On the General tab, the name should be "My Work Network."
OK and then select the Advanced (tab), Select Networks and select "My Work Network" from both of the pull down lists.

The "page not found" with the X30 seems to be mostly caused by the PowerSave function on the Axim's wireless. If you've installed version A05, you should be able to turn it off. If you have an earlier version and don't want to upgrade, get SilentKnight's utility for turning it off.

I just noticed something that might have caused my problem. My default IP for my router is 192.168.1.1, not 192.168.0.1, could that cause any problems? If so, what should I do, because when I try to do internet connection sharing it reassigns my main computer the ip of 192.168.0.1

Yes, you should be able to change it to 192.168.0.x where the x is anything other than 1. It needed to be changed, anyway and the first three number groups should be the same on all the computers on your network.
