Wireless Network apparently isn't a "network" at all
I've got a Linksys WCF12. Yeah, I can view web pages and send email, but I can't NETWORK computers. I can't view any of my various PC's shared directories on my Axim, or vice versa.
Look in the "Downloads" section on this website.....The admins have just added a link for a program called NetUse, which will allow for file browsing/sharing on networks. I haven't had a chance to try yet, b/c I'm studying and what not, but plan to try out tomorrow afternoon. I'll let you know how it works if I get a chance.
I tried that program, and it didn't work for me. I wasn't able to browse any folders, and I couldn't find any option to share folders on the Axim itself (which would be very handy).
I found another product that seems to work a lot better (at least from what I see)....however, it only seems to be a browser. It does not look like there is a way to access the Axim via a networked PC. Has a pretty nice layout though. Don't know if I'd pay the $29 they're asking for it either. Has a 10 day trial, however. At least worth checking out if you just need to browse network.

Oh well. =P
If you want to browse folders on Windows 2000 or XP system you will have to create a user for the axim with access to the folders. In the file explorer in PPC 2002 is connect to a networked PC already availble, see the 3 small icons in the bottom bar.. the left one pop's up a window which allows you to connect to a network pc, just fill in \\"PC name" (without the "") and youy'll see the shares.
You can browse file shares and use shared printers on your network from your Axim, but not the other way around. I don't know of any way to create a file share on the Axim and then have a desktop PC on the network access it.
The built-in File Explorer in PPC has an "Open" menu choice at the lower left where you can enter a network path and browse that shared folder across the network. The HP Mobile Printing utility allows you to enter a network shared printer and use it directly. Other apps like the Resco File Explorer further enahnce this capability with mapped drives, etc.
