Chat Program for Peer2Peer 802.11b

Has anyone come across a program that allows for chat between two pda's using 802.11b? I have found one that works over Bluetooth, but none for 802.11x. I don't want to use a program that requires you to be connected to the internet, as it will be used in situations where an access point is not available.

Thanks.

This is kind of what I was talking about in a different post (check out the "ad hoc sharing?" thread http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showt...?threadid=9922) for more details.

What I would like is the ability to chat and the ability to send files between 2 PocketPCs using peer2peer (ad hoc) mode. I want to be able to use an 802.11x wireless card to do this without having to connect to the internet or to an intermediate access point. It really seems like this should be a built-in functionality for the pocketPC or at least for the wireless client software!

It is not clear to me that Microsoft Portrait will allow files to be transferred wirelessly, although it should be possible if you can chat between two units.

FishDoctor,

It has an option to transfer files. I have not tested it yet, I have not had the time.

Probably late next week I will be trying ad-hoc mode, as well as file transfers. I will add more screenshots at that time as well.
