Hmm Bluetooth w/Mavin CF card

I just bought a Mavin CF BT card off of EBay and am trying to get it to talk to an I/O Gear USB BT adapter on my laptop. Anyone had any experience with the Mavin cards? How do the PAN's work? I basically just want to sync from a short disctance but don't knwo how to get things going. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
John

Good Luck my friend. I too bought the same off ebay and cant get it to do much. I can create a PAN network, however it really never connects. Plus my multiple emails to support were never returned. I got what I paid for I guess.

I had no problem connecting to my t68i phone and running internet off that.

Iam going wifi soon and will not buy off-brand stuff off ebay again. I have had wonderfull purchases off ebay, this one was just too goo to be true.

Jim

Yes, I heard of problems with the Mavin card.
There are a bunch of cheap products around on ebay.

But you can buy a card by socket or anycom there, both are good from what I heard.
Just got an Anycom from ebay for 56,00 EUR, I'm expecting it to arrive on next week!

Yes you can, however the problem with Mavin is the suport which is 0 and the drivers/software. It doesnt respond well sometimes.

Worried Should I try another brand?

Should I just keep the IOgear USB adapter and try another brand of CF BT card or sell the whole outfit? Has anyone had success connecting an Axim to a desktop/laptop through Bluetooth?

Thanks,
JT

Sell it at ebay and buy a Socket or Anycom card would be the best solution I think.

Should be worth it.
