I'm in the process of writing an article about using Pocket Skype with the Axim X30 (the app works great, by the way!).
Anyhow, I needed to get some screen captures off of the Axim. So I found and installed
Windows Mobile Power Toys, which includes version 2.03 of Remote Display Control.
I discovered a few things along the way that may be beneficial for others as well:
1. The Remote Display application consists of one component that runs on your desktop (server component) and another that runs on your PPC (client component). But for the latter you are presented with a wide variety of choices. The one that worked for me on my X30 was found here: wce300\arm I manually copied this onto the PPC.
2. I ran both components but the client couldn't seem to locate the server component. Remember that I'm doing this a WiFi connection, not with the cradle.
So I entered the name of my desktop, but nothing worked.
I finally got it working by entering into the "Hostname" field the IP address of my desktop. Then an image of my PPC immediately appeared on my desktop. Way too cool!
I hope this helps out some others,
Robert Werner
