FYI you live in the US, Comcast has changed how they set up accounts. They now run software on your PC which obviously sets the MAC address to your account. My router stopped working when I recently moved and it drove me insane until I realized that I had to clone the MAC address from the PC they had run their software on. Comcast, Ewwwwwwwwe!! They are the worst broadband provider and over priced. After checking their status with the BBB I am glad I did not go with them.

The municipal cable in my city expanded and now I am able to get broadband access for only $30 a month. Gotta love a good deal.
