Is there 802.11a flash cards?

I was wondering, has there been any manufacturer that has produced a secure digital or compactflash 802.11a wireless network card?

Looked around on Google, but did not see one and have not heard of one prior.

Is there a reason you need an A card as opposed to B?

I was under the impression most if not all 802.11 access points were at least a and b except maybe some very early ones?

No, I have a B only router at home. In most of the airports the access points are B routers as well.

802.11A is still extremely scarce and almost never used in public access points. Those are usually 802.11B and maybe the backwardly compatible 802.11G.

The reason why I need an 802.11a is because my school (for some strange reason) operates on that type of network, and it would be a great asset if I could take advantage of that opportunity to do research, etc. I realize 802.11a is still quite scarce. I have googled it and haven't found anything yet, they probably won't make it anyways, it would be such a small market to sell it to. Oh well...

I haven't seen a single one on the net. If it's really that big a deal, you may want to get one of those CF=>PCMCIA adapters and get a 802.11a PCM Card. Not sure if it will work though since PCM Wifi cards tend to eat power like candy.
