Question Does an aluminium case reduce wifi range or performance?

Hi. I just wanted to know if using an aluminium case such as Rhinoskin degrades the wifi performance in any way. I wonder because metal usually interferes with electromagnetic waves (wifi).

I've tried my X50v in and out of its RhinoSkin case and did not experience huge differences in signal strength. When surfing the web, though, I can't detect significant differences in dl speed. So, for me, practically it's not a problem.
