At some point in the process of trying to setup security with my wireless network I changed the WLAN seetings to say WPA authentication. I ahve been trying to change it back to Open but so far no luck.

I went into settings and removed all the configured networks but it still says WPA on the Advanced tab.

Is something broken or am I just totally clueless how WLAN works

...and if I am clueless- howe about helping me out- thanks!

Have you tried reseting the router to the factory settings? I doubt it came out of the box with any security enabled.

Your manual should tell you how to do this. Or, there should be a reset button on the router that you have to push using a paper clip or toothpick.
