Cisco with new PPC VPN?

I just found this on the Cisco site but am not sure what it means. It looks like Cisco has a solution coming late March that will allow us to get away from Movian (like it ever worked).

Someone that understands this please explain what they are talking about.

It looks like the 3000 series of concentrators will have a clientless web based interfcae which will be supported by PIE. So if you have one of these series of VPN concentrators, you don't need any client software on your PC, PPC to connect up.

That is correct, we are waiting for this version of the concentrator firmware to come out at work. You can use SSL to connect to the concentrator instead of the Cisco VPN Client. I am a little concerned that it mentions PIE on the HP iPaqs by name. I am hoping in will work with any Windows Mobile 2003 device. The inportant thing you need to know is just because this comes out, you will not be able to use it until your network guys upgrade the firmware on the Cisco VPN 3000 concentrator. I am sure if they are like us, that they will be testing in their test lab for a while before putting on their production concentrators. They will also have to enable this feature before you can use it after they do the firmware upgrade which they may or may not be planning to do.

They have already told me that they will update if "there is a compelling reason". I think the real answer coming is the Apani dialer that is in beta testing for PC and just released for Mac.
