Wi-Fi WLAN Power Consumption

Hi-
Just installed my wlan (with lots of help here, thanks much)
and have noticed that it consumes lots of power. Aside from changing brightness, and power off settings, are there any tricks to optimizing battery performance?

You can ensure that Powersave is "ON" but this may affect your connection.

Moved to Wireless Communcations.

that is the only thing i hate about my x50v -- surfing wirelessly drains the battery like there is no tomorrow. i usually surf with my x50v at night while watching tv or in the bed, so i turn the brightness down and i turn the wifi radio off when i'm not actively using it (ie, after loading a page that will take a minute or so to read). its a hassle to turn the radio on/off every few minutes, but it saves the battery. i used pocket hack master for a while, forcing the cpu cycles to virtually nothing, but it was too sluggish. i use power-saving mode, and it does not affect my wireless connection
