WiFi, use "Internet" or "Work"?

Which one should I use for my 802.11b wireless at home? Is there a difference?

Thanks.

I think both will work but as a rule use "work" if you are connecting to the Internet through a wireless network.

The Internet setting is really designed for a direct connection to a service such as you have with a dialup or when using a proxy server. Work would more properly be called network but relates back a few years when many people had networks in their work place, but only a dialup connection at home. Usually either setting will work on hotspots but if you want to use your home network for more than web access, "work" is the setting that usually works best.

This setting actually gave me a lot of trouble when first setting up my axim. I thought "I want to connect to the internet," so I selected "Internet." Oops. After a couple hours of frustration, playing with WEP settings, etc...I did a hard reset and selected "work" and connected to "the internet" without a hitch. :rolling:

I've been using the "Work" setting for over a year. "Works" for me! :D

You'd think they could be more specific, eh? Dial-up??? I guess there are people who still use dial-up...but I'm a spoiled student used to 9 MB/s on MIT campus.
