i have a a wired network, and i just want to know if i can get anything that will allow me to connect to my current network with wifi, instead of redoin the whole house with a wireless network.
is there some sort of wifi card or hub i can get to connect up?
i have a Axim x30/Hi
PS. soz if this has been asked before, but i just spent 30 mins looking for the answer lol.
The easiest (and probably cheapest) way is to get a wireless router. Alternatively, you can get a wireless card for your PC and enable Internet Connection Sharing on that PC. Have you checked out the wifi guide:
As Gigi said buy a cheap wireless router, hook inline in your wired network and away wou go.

Really just buy a cheap DSL\CABLEwirelessrouter ,most router's come with 4 wired ports in the back so your other computer's can still be wired:approve:

In Canada we can get wireless routers for $10-$20. I would imagine if you shop around in the UK you can get a decent deal too. That USB adaptor could be used with ICS and will work, but if that USB is 20 pounds I'd consider spending 25-30 to get a router if you can.

WHAT PART OF canada are you in? Where I live in Canada you can't get a decent router for under 89bucks..
kewl its just cause thats the cheapest option, and i just forked out £300 for my x30..... so it would be nicer on the wallet lol
Here is what I did...I bought the Linksys WRT54G wireless router and from the back port ran ethernet cable to my desktop PC. I run my laptop ( built in wireless card) off the router as well I run the Axim 30 off the router. So you can hook up your wired network you alraedy have in place off the router and run wireless to the Axim as well.
OK I'VE SEEN IT ALL NOW..a router for twenty bucks..LOL
I just received a D-Link DI-514 802.11b wireless router from Tiger Direct that was free after rebates plus $10.00 S&H. I regretted buying it because a couple of days later our local Fry's Electronics had a 802.11g wireless router on sale for $15 without the rebate hassles.
I used these two sites as guidance to get it set up:
decided to go For a router and im posting this message through it now, easy to Setup up and only cost me 30 pounds, thanks for the great advice guys. nice one :]
