networking please!

Real neweby. I have x3i with built in wifi, desktop with xp home and a linksys wireless-b adapter. How do I network them to share dial-up through my desktop? I also have Trend Micro 2005 with firewall enabled and xp firewall disabled.

I connected to a network at the school library with x3i.

You use Internet Connection Sharing on the desktop.

Remember to share the modem, not share the wifi.

Have a look here: http://wifi.aximsite.com for more details :) I'm also moving this to the wireless forum. Let us know how you get on.

well since you could ping your x3i, there is hope.
You just have to allow your x3i through your router. MOst likely you will have to allow all connections trhough the 192.168.0.2 IP or something.

no router, just card and modem in desktop. However, I disabled Trend- Micro firewall and enabled Microsoft firewall and am sending this fro x3i by wifi. Thanks for all suggestions.

bah haha thinking and typing different things. I meant firewall.. you should be able to allow your ppc through your firewall as long as you put it on an allowed list of some sort
