I'm a new Axim owner. Just got it before Christmas. I have a question. Anyone knows if it is possible to dial from the X51v to sony ericsson phone via bluetooth? I'm currently using Pocket Informant, but when I try to dial from the Axim, i only hear the dial tone from the Axim, it won't dial via bluetooth.
Also, is it possible to send sms with Pocket Informant? I see the option there when I tap and hold on the contact, but when i tap on it, nothing happens.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
In PI contacts, click on the globe icon on the bottom. Switch Dial Mode> to whatever works.
I have a T610 and I use BT serial port COM7 for dialing.
Kai's Bluetooth Headset Patch modifies that registry to enable the Bluetooth Headset profile and the Audio Gateway. The Dell X30 provides the necessary Bluetooth profiles to use Bluetooth headsets.
the axin 51v, does it have the audio gateway?
i have paired my bt headset, but no sound coming thru
I followed these instructions for connecting to Network Access (#12: Accessing the Internet on your PDA via Bluetooth equipped PC). But when I get to the final step, it prompts me for Network Log on: Username, Password, and Domain.
I don't know what to enter here. If I enter nothing, it won't let me advance. If I make something up, it doesn't work. Sometimes it gets stuck on this screen and I can't do anything except hit the power button, which turns off BT and seems to at least get everything to respond again. Also, sometimes BT Manager tells me I'm connected with lots of bytes transfering in and out. So it appears something is happening with the connection, but PIE still doesn't work...I can't browse at all. It seems to be still trying to connect...but never actually fully connecting.
Hey I just got the dell axim x51v and I'm having trouble with the bluetooth. The interface isn't the same as my old iPaq or like in the guide posted in this thread. For example, when I try to explore for devices, it does find my phone, but when I check the service obex file transfer isn't on the list. I found a way to send the files over from my phone, but I used to be able to get them off of it directly with my PDA. Is there anyway I can downgrade to the older bluetooth interface?

Using LG vx9800 bluetooth to connect x50v to internet
I tried to connect my axim x50v to my LG vx9800. I have followed all directions given by the posts at Verizon Data Plan. My connection has failed though, because it says that my username and password is wrong. I am connecting via a Verizon connection, and following all directions. I am typing in username and password suggested as in the post I read.
Everytime I try connecting, my 9800 seems to respond, lights turn on, bars of color fill up, but then my axim tells me sorry, not happening, wrong username and/or password.
find the widcomm project and download the latest version. This fixed you all the bt profiles you need. The default microsoft version excludes most profiles.
I am also having similar issues. I am trying to connect a Verizon LG VX8100 to a Dell Axim X51V. My phone is now saying "Dial up networking service is not supported". I have added the VCast functionality to the phone and can get on the Internet. Am I suppose to have some other kind of hardware? Did I miss setting something up??
Can anyone give me the basic BT settings for my x51v. It works fine with my Dell GPS - worked straight out of the box! But I can't get it to communicate with anything else. It sees various devices such as my and colleagues phones, which "see" it, but if I try and transfer data such as contacts, photos or music the communication fails.

What ROM version do you have? (It can be found start > settings > system > system information.
The bluetooth prior to a12 was severely crippled by MS. Because of that, several folks went about extracting and tweaking the widcomm stack to work with wm5 on the x51v. It can be found here http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=122247.
Many like it better than the a12 MS version, but I don't know it behaves with the gps.
My x50v can exchange files with a Samsung e730 cell phono, using OBEX file transfer protocol, but it can only receive files from a Benq Siemens EF81 phone; when it comes to sending files the line "Send via Bluetooth" disappears . When sending contacts or appointments, everything goes smoothly either way. The x50v can pair the EF81, but only shows the following protocols: Dialup ans Serial.
Any clue to implement OBEX for the EF81 or any other way to send files from the Axim to the EF81?
