bluetooth help

Ok no one seems to have an answer for me...so new post

Does anyone know of a seperate tutorial then the one here on aximsite for hooking up my x50v to the internet via bluetooth on my pc, i have followed the whitlyt's bluetooth guide to a T and it just isn't happening for me.

I have a dlink wired router, and an IOgear bluetooth usb dongle
I'm running xp

I changed my router ip and default ip so that i was allowed to enable file sharing...i can now connect to the network but when i try to access a website it informs me that the page i'm trying to reach could not be located...I'm tempted to do a hard restart and try over but don't want to loose all my past calender logs...the rest i don't really care about.

Any and all help would be great i've been working on this for days now and want my connection b4 i buy the think outside bluetooth keyboard

I understand your frustration, but what exactly is the point of this poll? I don't see how it can help you solve your problem.

I'm just curios
Judging by the problems i'm having, other must have had the same problems and not spoken up...maybe it's a problem with the dongle and the drivers or maybe not i'm hoping to get some feedback and maybe help others figure out what is going on.

perhaps everyone that has been successful could let us know their setup and everyone that hasn't been successful could do the same.
there must be a problem somewhere and i would like to get to the bottom of it.
I always assumed using bluetooth would be alot easier and am very dissapointed so far.

I have a similar set up to you and have only been able to connect through active sync to the internet. I have used the wizard but it connets then tries to turn on a modem? then disconnects. I am hoping to get networking going, I have wifi but heard blue tooth uses less battery.

Got it to work. Here are my settings. "Bluetooth Settings" for both my Networks under connections advanced. Go into edit and delete any modem entry there exit and use the BT wizard to conect. Now shows up as BT Network for modem. Post if it doesn't work for you and all your settings.

there is no option to delete modems, after you hit edit you have to pick from a list of modems...com 1, irda, bluetooth or bluetooth dial up modem, i did delete the modem b4 the edit screen on the other hand did the wizard and the modem shows up as bluetooth null modem...still no page access

I have given up using the adapter. I have wi-fi at home so don't need it. The connection I made was not stable. Bought the 2.0 adapter since it was cheaper and said it supported 1.1. Don't know if that was the problem or what. If anyone has a comment on this please post as I can still take it back and get the 1.1 that has longer range and cost +$30 (almost double).
