I am at the end of my wits. I have tried settings from this site, HowardForums, dslreports.com and a number of other sites and cannot connect. I have been using my Axim 30 High, Motorola V511 and Cingular MEdiaNet Unlimited. I have used *99***N# (N = 1-5), *99# and wap.cingular as the phone numbers. I have used WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM and CINGULAR1 for an ID and password. And I have used 10 different init stings. Is there any definitive set of settings or am I just SOL?

I have a Motorola Razr V3, T-mobile, and my Axim X50v

I do not have the internet option yet. I *do* have the T-zones option.

When connecting using settings as described above, I can check email, but not browse. Likely because browsing is blocked until you fork over the extra $30/month, but they could care less about your email.

I don't need to put in a username, password, or domain.

I don't need to put in any extra dial-string modem commands. If I do put any in, it makes no difference for me. Nothing additional starts working and nothing stops working.

After connecting to the phone and dialing #99*, I'm able to check my mail from anywhere.

Cingular -- USA initial failure to dialup provider

Motorola V600 w/ Bluetooth -- first-time failure

After repeatedly failing to connect to my ISP using my A30i and Motorola V600 phone, I learned... Cingular currently has 2 basic plans:

The first is to use their internet access service which costs 1 cent/downloaded Kb or users can buy bulk at 2 MB@$9.99/mo, 5 MB@$19.99/mo, etc. Considering that some webpages/e-mail attachments are over one MB, this can get expensive!

The alternative is to use your existing ISP by buying their "circuit switch data" plan at $3.99/mo and which uses only your anytime minutes (not nights and weekends).

Their toll free # is 1-866-246-4852

Hey everyone

I am a Rogers Wireless Canada customer. I am using the Motorola Razr V3 and the Axim X51. I can connect, but I get nowhere when I try to access anything. Is this another bluetooth error in WM2005? I finally found out how to bipass the file transfer, but this is really confusing me. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance

Can you also provide the name of your cell phone provider?

Update for Rogers - Canada

I received an email just today from Rogers. After a long struggle to get my Motorola to work the issue came done to one setting..... set the connectionto be to the network and NOT to a modem. Once I made that changed everything worked!!! One issue is you have to subscribe to their data plan and not just for web browsing.
Below are the instruction directly from Rogers. Step ! (where Imarked very important is the key!!!)

Using Motorola V600 as Bluetooth Dial-up modem with PalmOS devices

In order for two Bluetooth devices to communicate with each other, they will have to be paired. Before they could be paired, the Bluetooth Radio will have to be turned ON on both devices:

On the PalmOS: On the Prefs – Bluetooth menu, ensure it displays “Enabled”

On the Motorola V600 phone:

Menu – Settings – Connection – Bluetooth link – Setup – Power, select Edit/Add, set to ON, select “Select

1. Pair the two devices:
- On the Phone, from the Bluetooth link – Setup menu, highlight “Find me”, select “Select”

- On the handheld, from the Bluetooth menu, access “Trusted devices”, select “Add device”.
When prompted, enter the same passkey on both devices.

2. Configuring the PalmOS handheld to use the Motorola V600 as Bluetooth Dial-up modem:

Step 1

Create a new connection on the Handheld:
From the Prefs – Connection menu, select New and configure as follows:
Name: V600
Connect to: Local Network (VERY IMPORTANT)
Via: Bluetooth
Device: Motorola Phone

Step 2
Create a new Network Service:
From the Prefs - Network menu, tap on Preferences in the upper left corner and under Service, select “New”
Configure as follows:

Service: Rogers Wireless
User name: wapuser1
Password: wap
Connection: V600 (the connection created above)

Select “Details” and ensure it displays the following:

Connection type: PPP
Idle timeout: Never
Query DNS: (checked)
IP Address: (checked) Automatic

Select “Script” and enter the following:

Send: at+cgdcont=1,"IP","internet.com"
Send CR:
Send: ATD*99#
Send CR:
End:

Select OK, select OK again and then, select “Connect”
