Nokia 3650

Dell Axim x51v

Windows Mobile 5

ROM: A06 & A12

Last Updated Word Doc on: 10-16-06

This is my instructions for setting up T-mobile followed by related FAQ. I am looking for help organizing the info so it fits the forums style. My goal is a step-by-step guide with pictures.

Looking for comments or suggestions or if someone wants to cut and paste out of it and creat a new post.

Thanks.

Update: 10-04-06, scott.holmes converted the doc into pdf format and I posted updated the link below. Thanks Scott.

Providing a link to that i would have thought to be OK, its a large document so i have PDF'd it for you, might be a better link.

Not everyone has the ability to read .doc files :)

I've tried these exact settings on my Axim X51v with my K800i on vodafone contract (with GPRS package), unfortunately i am unable to connect and get the following error message: The answering modem has dissconnected. To check your connection settings and change them if needed, tap settings.

Has anyone else had any joy connecting through a K800i? Even on another network? I'd really appreciate input on this one, it must be do-able! Maybe i have the wrong settings?

Cheers guys :)

Info for anyone that wants/needs it, i've successfully got the above working - axim x51v + k800i + vodafone contract!

* On the k800i goto settings > data communication > data accounts
* Ignore new account and look for contact internet, on my phone it is number 3 in the list.
* In the Axim settings, you need to use *99***3# as the numer. (3, as it was 3rd in the list on my phone)
* Extra dial string commands - delete all in this boz and just put an uppercase Z

Thats all!

Hi MAx, I've been trying to set this up tonight, X50V and 6230i

After trying various combinations, I can access a site like WSP://google.co.uk which runs and searches fine, but I can't access much else.

Have you managed full internet access???

Vodafone Italy - Motorola L7 Slvr

DIAL NO. *99#
Username: blank
Passwd: blank
Domain: blank

Extra dial-string modem commands: none

Follow this and you should have no problems connecting. I had problems accessing pages, but found this sorted it out:

START> SETTINGS > CONNECTIONS > MANAGE EXISTING CONNECTIONS > Tap on proxy settings and uncheck "This network uses a proxy server..." Tap OK and bingo.

Vodafone Germany

Vodafone Germany
Axim X51v, Nokia 6280
via Bluetooth

Dialing number: *99#
User name: (leave blank)
Password: (leave blank)
Domain: (leave blank)
Extra dial-string modem commands: +CGDCONT=1, "IP", "web.vodafone.de"
Primary DNS 139.007.030.125
Secondary DNS 139.007.030.126
IP: dynamic

According to Vodafone Germany, the above works with Motorola, Nokia, Panasonic, Samsung and Sharp phones. For info on other phones, eg. Sony Ericsson, Siemens, see:
http://www.vodafone.de/business/supp...oad/59330.html

Thanks to all the posters here for your help. The above link says to use AT+CGDCONT=1... and I tried and tried unsuccessfully until I read these posts where it dawned on me the term "Extra dial string modem commands", so I left off the AT and it worked like a charm.

All this I got from viewing this site and the power of Google :approve: , just thought I'd add it to this thread.
In order to connect my Sony Ericson T610, I have to forget about the extra dial-string modem command and use *99#.
But after been connected, I got this message:"Impossible... the connection has been lost.
Is anything to do with a proxy sever to be fixed.

Thank's for giving me more details or a contact at fido who understand this, or even a web site for more details.
( I can navigate with my T610)

Phone: Cingular (Sync) Samsung a707

Dialing number: *99#

Extra dial-string modem commands: +CGDCONT=1, "IP", "WAP.CINGULAR"

Media Max bundle 200 for 19.99 /mo.

this finally worked, thanks to everyone. - I made the changes of everything in CAPS and entered the "IP" between the commas above.

ALSO the cingular site has the "IP" missing in their instructions, they just have two commas https://www.cingular.com/support/set...e=CingularSYNC
(only choice was an IPAQ, they did not have axim to select the setup)

Make sure you un-check (off) the wait for dialtone and set max transfer rate (115200) as indicated in some other messages here. :approve:

BT Mobile (British Telecom Mobile)
Right, this has taken me 'king ages to get working again, so at least if there here, I can look them up again in the future! 'Scuse me if there's more settings than 'REALLY' needed, but I want them all for the future..

Nokia 6021
---------------
Settings Downloaded (sent to phone) from http://www.mobileservicesettings.bt....html/login.jsp
N.B - Apparently this only applies to Users of BT Business - Home users perhaps use a different service (although I doubt it!).

Axim x50v (Mobile 5)
---------------------------
I created a NEW connection for this to make it more obvious.

Connection Name: BTMobile
Name: BTMobile
Modem: Bluetooth
My Connections: MyPhoneName
Dialer Settings: *99***1#
Username: bt
PassworD: bt
ADVANCED/GENERAL TAB...
Baud Rate: 115200
Wait for Dial Tone: Not Ticked
Wait for Credit Card: 0 Sec
Extra dial-string modem commands: +CGDCONT=,,"btmobile.bt.com"
Cancel if not connected in: 30 sec.

ADVANCED/PORT SETTINGS...
ConnectionPreferences
Data bits: 8
Parity: None
Stop Bits: 1
Flow Control: Hardware

Terminal
Use terminal before connecting: Not set
Use terminal after connecting: Not set
Enter Dailing commands manually: Not set

ADVANCED/TCP/IP...
Use Server-assigned IP Address
Use Slip: Not Set
Use software compression: Ticked
Use IP Header compression: Ticked

Connect Settings/ Proxy Settings:
This network connects to the internet: Ticked!

username, password, domain: none

Advanced
Baud rate: 57600

One step back 500 4ward

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

UNBELIEVABLE !!!!!!!I went back and deleted all settings on axim even bluetooth pairing with phone, deleted axim from phone, then started from connections/ my ISP/ add new connection. @ modem/ select bluetooth ,made phone discoverable clicked add new partnership on axim partnered with phone, finished the modem settings and viola! I need to use the KISS rule more often. Incredibly simple [me too], humungously frustrating, educational.
LESSON FOR THE DAY. It's always good to start at the beginning.
