After seeing many requests for help in setting up a connection between cell phone and Pocket PC to access the Internet, I thought it would be useful to create a thread in which the GPRS settings of cell phone providers are listed in an organized fashion.
DIRECTIONS:
For each cell phone provider, please create a separate post and include the Network and Country (See the second post for an example.) in the title. In the body of the post, first state your cell phone model and then list the settings. If you find that you are using settings already listed in one of the posts but with a different cell phone, please make reference to the post with the settings and I will edit that post to include your phone model.
Note that this thread does not provide assistance in using your phone to access a dialup service. The setup described here assumes you have subscribed to a cell phone plan with data capability (i.e., GPRS/EDGE). If you are unsure, contact your cell phone provider.
If you are having difficulties using these settings to set up a connection with your cell phone, please see the following helpful resources:

Reason: added title
I can't seem to get the extra string commands to work for orange
i'm inputting +cgdcont=5, "ip", "orangeinternet" but it will not work. i've tried with and without spaces after comma's and also without he G as shown above but none work. without the strong the axim connects to my spv c500 fine but beleive it is on dial up rather than gprs due to the signal indicator next to signal strength.

Hello Gigi,
There is an error in the V551 settings for Rogers. I just got off the phone with a technician from Rogers. He was very helpful. The correct settings are :
Dialing number: *99#
User name: wapuser1
Password: wap
Domain: [no domain]
Extra dial-string modem commands: +cgdcont=1, "IP", "internet.com"
Also, in the TCP-IP Tab, the compression checkboxes should both be un checked.
Before calling Rogers, I tried for 3 hours to get a connection. With these settings, it took me a whole two minutes.

Hm, that's strange because I double-checked these settings and they have worked fine for me for about 6 months now. Are you on a monthly plan or PayGo? I am on PayGo so maybe that is the difference?
Nope. Monthly plan. I don't have a data transfer plan though. I got the phone yesterday, and I wanted to try the Bluetooth Internet access. I am paying by the Kb. It should not make a difference, right?
