Can't access shared files over network.
Hi.
I got a local network with a wireless router, and asigned manually IP's to each PC&PPC. From each PC i can access all others PC's shared folders&files, and internet access trough router. With PPC i access internet trough router (I. Explorer, mail, etc). All right until now. The problem is: with Resco i see the PC's on the net and their shared folders, but can't access them nor files: when click over a PC's shared folder and select 'Share', get message "Can't connect to the network address. Network resource can't be found or you don't have rights to access the network".
¿may someone help?
Thank you!

I had a similar problem on a previous computer that I got around by creating a user on the PC with the same name as the Axim and created a password for its access. Then, when I tried to connect, it asked for the password and I entered it the first time and never had the problem again. My current PC (which is running XP Home like the other one) never gave me that trouble, so I'm not sure what other setting difference I had.

Now seeing files trough File Explorer!
Thanks for your fast reply, ikehiker. I'll try your instructios. Yesterday, i tried to connect network shared folder with File Explorer (guess this is the engish name for default PPC explorer), and succeed just writing same location who don't worked in Resco ('\\PcName\FolderName').
Why is still wrong in Resco?
Any ideas?

That's really strange. I've never heard of anyone being able to connect with the standard file explorer but not Resco. I have no idea what to suggest.

Alright, well I myself am having an issue. I have all four of my pcs and a laptop networked perfectly fine. The problem is with my PPC. I can access only shares that are on the C drive of the pc's sharing files. The problem is I have 95% of my important stuff on separate drives. Anyone have this issue. Once again, I can access any share made on the C drives from my PPC, but not any other drive. It's as if they dont exist. If I try to manually map the shared folder it acts as if it is not shared, doesn't exist, or don't have permission, etc.
EDIT: Well it seems I can map some folders, but only one at a time. This is really weird. I just find it extremely strange it only "sees" C drive shares and only allows some folders (on other drives) to be shared.
I am using Resco FIle Explorer
I experience the same thing with the regular file explorer. It only "sees" C drive shares.

I have done some more messing around and have found if the root drive is shared, meaning if I share the whole dam* drive it shows up in the explorer. Anyone know what's with the Explorer not seeing subfolders.
EDIT: Can we not browse through folders like windows pc shares? I know Windows Mobile has its limitations and am just curious. I can manage to map explicit folders of the shares now by manually putting in the share EXCEPT ONE. The sad thing is it is the one I want the most. I have tried getting a share with no symbols of any sort still no luck. I enter the share manually into Resco and it acts as though it was successful, but it doesnt show up as a folder. When I delete the share or change the name in windows it says one user is connected.

More data about that...
well, simplifying the problem was:
I can access files on network shared folders with file explorer, but NOT with Resco.
I discovered today i can play directly mp3/divx files on those folders trough Betaplayer (This is great!), simply writing its location ('\\PCname') and then browsing normally trough folders until file is selected.
Why this way is not working with Resco?
What am i doing wrong?
Thanks for your time.

All right, I'm bumping this one now, since I'm having the exact same problem. Shares work fine in File Explorer, but Resco totally refuses to map the shares.
Mephala, if you're still around, did you find a solution?
Anyobody else has an idea?

I'm having the same trouble. I can't connect either through Resco or File Explorer. I'm trying to connect to my Mac, which is running SMB. I used to be able to do this perfectly back when I had my X30 about a year ago, but now my X50v won't connect.
It does connect to my Windows XP desktop though. I thought it might be an issue with Tiger on the Mac, but it sounds like Windows users are having similar problems.
I just don't get it, I'm doing everything like I did before.
