Bluetooth connection to SPV C500

Hi

I've got an Axim X50v and an Orange SPV C500.

Could someone point me in the right direction for linking the two together so that i can dial into my ISP from the Axim via my phone and collect e-mail.

I've tried connecting via bluetooth and everything has paired fine but when trying to dial up, the phone tries to dial and then stops and the axim seems to think there is no modem at the other end of the call yet when dialling direct from phone it works fine.

If you require further information as the model of axim then please let me know.

regards

nick

Welcome to Aximsite!

Take a look at this thread for GPRS settings (post #3 for Orange) and especially the links in the first post if you need step by step instructions.

followed the quide and managed to connect it once but when trying with the command string it would not connect. now when trying to connect i get a message saying "the answering modem has disconnected"

i assume this is a problem with orange rather than any settings on the spv c500

When you say "dial into my ISP", do you mean you're actually trying to dial a number (an 0800 number or 0845 or whatever) and go online via their connection whilst using your minutes? Or are you connecting via GPRS, which would effectivley mean that Orange is your ISP.

If the latter, then I severely doubt it's an Orange problem. Have you tried Orange Data Support? (Phone 150 and go through the options, speak to someone and be put through to them) They're extraordinarily helpful.
