I've had a Netgear MA701 CF card for about 25 days. I'm going to send it back and give up on WiFi if I can't get this figured out.

- I have a SMC Wireless Router 7004AWBR that has been set up and IS working with one desktop and two laptops connecting via wireless cards. I know nothing about how it works!!!! It was setup via defaults. I don't even know what the 'address' of the wireless router is. Everything simply works.

- One laptop can share files with the desktop.

- Firewall is enabled on the router, WEP is not

- I installed the Netgear card in my Axim and set it up via the manual instructions (Network=Infrastructure, SSID=ANY, Link Rate = Fully Auto).

- I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET MY AXIM TO SYNC AND POCKET IE TO WORK! But it had been hit and miss. A few days ago I turned my Axim on and it connected (when it connects I get a strong signal anywhere in the house). I set it down for a few minutes and then all I could get was a blinking 'scanning' light and no connection. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to why I cannot make this work consistantly. For the past day or two, I can't get it to work at all, period.

- I have played around with the 'Connections' settings, etc.

Am I just stupid (I'm setting myself up on that one!), do I have a defective card, or something else.

Is there a tutorial (I did look at the one on aximsite about syncing wirelessly to two different networks/machines) that can walk me through a setup.

The SMC Router manual and the Netgear manual assume a fair amount of knowledge about the system. I just know that mine has been working but I can't get the Axim added to the system.

About your Axim and its card, you might want to try soft reseting and putting the card in and out. If this doesn't work try reinstalling the drivers, and lastly you might need to do a hard reset. I have heard of several cases of this happening if an Axim goes into power saving mode, but don't know if that is what happend.
For your PC's to share resources first enable file/printer sharing in network properties ( only in win 9x) then just right click on the drive and select share. If your network in unsecure that is a bad idea though, because of wardriving. (read other threads)
