Worried Internet Via Bluetooth using DSL connection?

All,

Here is what I would like to do:

Sit on my couch and surf the net using my DSL connection using bluetooth.

I have tried teds BT guide and had no joy....
I then tried another good guide which I followed and still no joy... http://www.pc-counselor.com/How_to/b...th_network.htm

I can connect to the internet via ActivSync....but this is using my cradle...I would like to move to the couch

I have a WIDCOMM Bluetooth dongle attached to a dell dim 8300...T-Online DSL...XP and SP2....and a 50V.

I have tried it using the T-online software connection and setup a working manual one using Dial-up.

I have managed to swap files...communicate with pc via bluetooth...but not access the internet.

Please help me on this one..

If there are any Bluetooth wizards willing to share their brain please please DO :approve:

There are two approaches you can try.

1 - From the PPC, connect to the PC with an Acticesync connection and surf the net via Activesync pass through.

2 - Surf the net via the PC using the PC's ICS service (don't use AS pass through).

Which method are you trying?

I have tried using ICS...and using "activesync using bluetooth" the guide link above was very good but no connection...

I used the pass through but only got it working in the cradle..not through BT

I don't have my BT dongle with me, but going down the ICS route, you enabled ICS within the BT service on the PC right?

Form the PPC if you browse use the Browse the BT device feature can you see the PC? What services does it see?

That's what you'd use for AS though right? The serial service.

Can you get a connection via the network service?

If you go to Start, Settings, Connections, Connections, Advanced, Select Networks, does it say something like "Programs should connect to the Internet should connect using" and do you have it set for My ISP or Internet?
