I had a problem with range when
my X10 cameras are on, but no problem
when they are off... do you have any
x10 cameras? or something 2.4ghz wireless?

Possibly even a microwave has effects
on my 2.4 ghz phone...

If a neighbor has wi-fi you can have some interference and range issues too...

Dell TrueMobile1180

You guys are failing to see that the normal cards work just fine, where as the Dell card does not. So interference would be a secondary issue as to why it has a lack of distance problem. I sent mine back and got the ambicom and love it to death. No more Dell TrueMobile.

I was having trouble out on my patio, my WiFi AP was in my office which is in the front of the house. What I did was buy a Dlink Wireless Range Extender. I put this in the back of my house and now I have full coverage all over my backyard and pool...

I suppose you could dump more money into more hardware to get your dell truemobile card to work, or you could just go replace it with a card that actually has an acceptable distance.

That range extender is pretty nice though. What kind of AP are you using? Do you know if it would work with a Microsoft Access Point?? (bash me all you want for buying a microsoft AP, but for $30 you cannot go wrong).

I'm using a Apple Airport as my Access Point. I was worried the Dlink wouldn't like it, but it works great.
