Wireless sync and network problem
I have a Dell Axim x50v. Last week, I set up wireless syncing using the walkthrough on this site and it worked pretty well. I was also able to access the shared folders on my home network. Out of nowhere, none of this works anymore. When I try to connect to my network, I get the message "The network path was not found" and then "Network resource cannot be found or you do not have permission to access the network." When I try to sync wirelessly, it just doesn't connect, and doesn't give me an error message. I know that I'm connected to the network, and I can still browse the internet from it. I also didn't change any settings. Does anyone have any idea of what could be going on here?

Is that the only PC you sync with? If not, open AS on the Axim, tap Tools, Options and make sure the correct PC's name is in the dropdown list.

It's still not working yet, even after a hard reset. This makes me think that it has something to do with my network setup or router, not the PPC. The wireless router I use is a Linksys WRT54G, which is not directly connected to the computer with ActiveSync; it's connected to a router that is connected to the computer with the cable connection. This router also has a powerline (basically, wired) connection that goes to the computer with ActiveSync. I'm starting to think that this odd setup is what's causing the problem, but then again, it did work at one point. Maybe someone can confirm whether this should work or not?
Anyway, I downloaded and installed vxUtil. It says the IP address is 0.0.0.0... and I'm pretty sure it should have an IP address. I'm guessing that this is related to my problem. Does that help at all?

What does the Dell WLAN show for an IP? If it also shows 0.0.0.0, then you are not obtaining an IP from your router and that would cause the wireless sync problem. I assume you cannot access the web or email with the X50v, either.
Are you running any security on the router? If so, disable it temporarily until you are sure you can connect. If you are not running any security, you may have success by toggling the wireless off and back on. You might also try changing the channel on your router (to 1, 6 or 11 - that it is not currently on) in case there is something causing interference.

That's the weird thing... the Dell WLAN does show the IP address and I can access the web with it. The only thing that doesn't work is wireless syncing and accessing shared files.
I changed the channel earlier, and while it did speed up the connection process, it didn't affect anything else. I'll try disabling the WEP though.
EDIT: It had no effect.
SECOND EDIT: I just got a message saying "Unable to obtain a server-assigned IP address. Try again later or enter an IP address in Network settings." Where exactly would I enter the IP?

If you can access the web and email, then it's not a problem with the IP on the Axim (unless that latest message means you no longer get an IP). You probably should have been looking on the desktop - probably something to do with a firewall.
