Curious if anyone has come across a descent FREE hyperterminal application for use with Bluetooth. I've done some VB 6 development to get 2 serial devices to communicate, but I'm not sure what all is involved with Bluetooth. I'm sure there is something that has to be done with the "pairing". Maybe this is more a call for developers out there for some feedback. Is this something that could be acomplished easily or are there more details about the bluetooth connection that I'm not aware of? Some possiblities in my mind.... two way chat over bluetooth, or the ability to recieve serial data over bluetooth from an external device to PDA. I've seen an example of the latter between a external bluetooth device (connected to a microcontroller) to PC which actually uses Hyperterminal. I want to walk up to a "panel" (which usually takes a hyperterminal connection)

and download to a .txt all the code from it via bluetooth.

possible installing a serial to ethernet jack on the panel, then a bluetooth emiter....


it can be done... just wondering if anybody else has.

you need one of those adaptors.

so you really need a usb to serial adaptor, then a serial to bluetooth! <--

From there any hyperterm app will be working as long as your have serial communication.
