Hmm Problem with Westell Versalink 327W

Wireless was working fine with my Linksys WRT54G. Then my DLS provider changed my service and supplied a Westell 327W. I've been able to get my PC's to connect without any problems, but while my X30 indicates it is connected on the WLAN main screen, it is not getting an IP address (it either shows 0's or a number starting with 169. Repair fails.)

I've searched the forums here and been through the interface for the Westell but I can figure out what else I need to do--has anyone got this configuration working? Any tips?

Thanks,
Lynn

Update:
I tried using a static IP address, but that did not fix the problem.

I tried Dell support, but the support person wasn't helpful and ended up sending me a replacement X30 that does the same thing as my original.

I tried Verizon support and they don't support PDA's, although they did send me to Westell support. BTW, Verizon's chat tools software crashes IE...

It turns out that Westell does not offer customer support and they are happy to point that out vigorously.

Additional update. I tried again with Dell support, hoping to get someone who had more experience. This time we got it working with a hard reset. :approve:

Chapter 2.

After I got my X30 working with the Westell, at Dell's instruction, I did a full restore. It continued to work, although I did have to manually reinstall some of the software despite the restore (is this a clue?)

Then a few days later I noticed that my Today plugin is back to the way it was before I did the backup and hard reset; IOW it "finally" got restored somehow. Unfortunately the wireless quit working (no IP from the router) again at the same time.

Perhaps a hard reset without a restore will do the trick this time...

LMO, there are services that help contact centurytel customer support by searching online for their number. I think sprint is also familiar with westell versalinks too. My 327W will not recognize my IP address for some odd reason...
