I am not sure how to switch or disconnect and connect to a different WiFi network. When I turn on my Wifi on my x50v, it always goes to my Wifi network, what if I wanna switch? (not for illegal reasons, just to test functionality)


How do I do this? And is there a program that searches for WiFi access points and connects to the wanted AP, or I have to use some other device to search for APs, which makes me wonder why ppl would BUY a separate Wifi sniffer? Why not just use the PDA's wifi capabilities?

IS it better to buy a Wifi sniffeR to search for APs?

try ministumbler.
If you want to switch networks, just use the built in wifi utility that comes with the axim.
Go to settings_connections_dell wlan utility_tools_edit wireless profiles, there just select an AP and tap and hold with stylus and select connect. You can also access the axims built in sniffer by tapping the wifi signal strength icon on bottom right of the screen.
Ministumbler is also very good at finding access points.

Boingo makes a small free software that detects available wifis in the area. But what I've found great about the software is how easy it is to switch wifi networks. The software does it all.

Ya boingo is pretty damn neat. If only all those Wifi networks werent WEP'ed :P
