WIFI Hotspots - need help

Took my Axim on holiday with me from UK to Turkey, hoping to be able to connect to free WIFI hotspots. Unfortunately had little luck achieving this. Would have thought I could connect at the airport in UK (Luton).

Has anyone any advice on:-

How to find out where free hotspots are?

Am I connecting correctly, i.e. I use DELL WLAN utility to search for access points.

I have not yet used Odyssey, don't know how to set up. Should I be using this?

Installed Kasei Hitchhiker, but to date have never been able to connect to any found networks.

Any help much appreciated.

Well, I don't know about the UK, but most of the airport hotspots in the states cost money. As for finding free ones...Yahoo Maps supposedly has an option to show hotspots on whatever map you bring up, not sure if it distinguishes between free & pay or not.

As for Odyssey, unless you have a special corporate network setup, you should never have to use that. I second the idea for downloading Wififofum, it's great and free.

Unfortunately, ministumbler doesn't seem to recognize the x50 series wifi adapter...and I do miss it so.
