Are there stronger Wifi cards than truemobile?

I purchased the one from Dell the truemobile wifi card but for some reason I seem to have trouble with getting signals at my school. ( others in the same room use their laptops just fine, while mine is searching.....searching......searching.....)
Thanks in advance

I've had trouble getting my TrueMobile CF card to "search" for WiFi networks as well. If I go into "Dell Client" and manually scan for netwrks it will connect, but it will not search for a network and connect on its own.

I've also had trouble connecting to my D-Link access point at home.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

In my experience, virtually all wifi cards are more powerful than the Truemobile. They are notorious for being very short-ranged - about 25-30% of the range of the Netgear. I'd recommend replacing it with a Socket card, if you can afford it. It has the best range and battery life. For something cheaper, try the Netgear MA701 (what I use), a Linksys WCF12, or perhaps an Ambicon.

The only nice thing about the 1180 is how small it is. But that is probably why it sucks so bad - practically no antenna!

I use it BECAUSE it sucks. :^)

I'm a network admin: "If I can get a signal on this pos, you certainly can on your higher-performance pos.
