x50 wireless connection prob

I just got my x50 and followed the tutorial to set up the wifi. Unless I have both the Wlan and Odessy on I cannot get a signal. When I have them both on I get a very strong signal (2 feet from my router) but when I try to go online is get the message "Unable to obtain server assigned address. Try again later or enter an IP address in network settings". Can anyone help me? Thanks.

How is your network set up? If you have an 802.11g router, is it set to mixed mode? If you are using security, have you entered the PPC's MAC address into the router and entered the WEP key in hex format into the Axim? Are both the dropdown lists under Network Management the same? (I generally recommend you use 'My Work Network' as the choice on this page.)

See the WiFi Guide linked from my signature for more suggestions.

recyclor, had the same problem and anxiously waited for somebody to come up with more ideas. It always said I was connected to my network, strong signal, everything seem right but I always got that same message, "Unable to obtain server assign IP address. Frustrated me to no end. I had even tried manually putting in the IP address, subnet mask and all that. Still no go, same message. With nothing to lose, I also put in the DNS server info, and Alternate DNS info, bingo, I connected right away. I suggest you try it, may work for you also.

Note: I should mention that at first I turned off all security on my router to make it easier to connect. Once I was connected a couple of times, I reset my router with all security and then put all the info into the Axim, still connected immediately. All is good now.
