use Axim as walkie talkie?

Hello, I heard MS Portrait can support two way VoIP. thus using the PDA as a walkie talkie.

just wondering tho... is it possible to use Bluetooth instead of wifi to establish the connection? to my understanding bluetooth is much easier on the battery than wifi...

any ideas?

You're right, BT is much easier on the battery. I see no reason why portrait wouldn't work, but I haven't tried it.

Just remember that you're effective range is going to be around 10m so it's probably easier to yell, or even talk loudly :)

I thought bluetooth had around 100M range...
thought it mite be useful if the other person on the 2nd floor above u.

No, Bluetooth has a rather small range. The 10m is about right I think...

Class I is 100m, Class II is 10m.

The Axim is Class II.
