SD to CF MICRO DRIVE + BATTERY LIFE WITH CF MICRO DRIVE + WM 5.0 ON CF MICRO DRIVE

I installed 2.2 GB CF-MICRO DRIVE today in my X50V. Battery dropped fast from 75% to 29% in fewer time than usual with only SD card.

I have some questions.

(1) Does CF-MICRO DRIVE affacts battery life? If yes, to what extent?
(2) Is it possible to copy existing SD card contents to CF Micro Drive as-it-is and editing registry by replacing 'SD Card' to 'CF Card' so I don't have to reinstall all programs? Can I copy and registry as a text file on my desktop pc and than replace the existing registry on my X50V with 'CF Card' in place of 'SD Card'?
(3) A very dumb question. If it is all about persistent storage, can we install Windows Mobile 5.0 to SD / CF Card / CF Micro Drive instead of ROM? If so, how to do that?

CF microdrive REALLY eats at battery life... one of the main reasons I never switched from solid state.
I dont know how much it eats, but im pretty sure its compropable to having Wifi on.

Im not sure about the install directory part...it might all be in the windows directory with all the program data so it would be more of a challenge to move it there.

You can not install WM5 to a SD or CF. It would make it too easy for people to damage or crash their OS to make it unbootable. You CAN however install most if not all your apps to your CF or SD card.

To be brief,

1) Yes, quite significantly. You're going from solid state to moving parts and as such the power drain will be a lot higher.
2) Yes, I do it all the time with moving basic programs around and I have no issues
and 3) Not that I know of.

I quit CF Micro Drives

I was able to exchange my 2.2 GB Magicstore Microdrive with 2.0 GB ScanDisc CF drive.

Not only my X50V blazing now, power saving is soo good improved!

I won't recommende CF Micro Drives to anyone anymore!
