Program memory vs. BIS

I am not sure how the Program memory and Storage memory are working. Hopefully someone can explain to me.

When the system runs, does it use only the Program memory or does it also use the unutilized Storage memory?

If I installed all my software on the SD Card and leave the BIS completely empty, does it help to boost up the system performance?

Will the Program memory be affected if I install a lot of software in BIS?

Thank you for answering my childish questions.

PsionAndy gave you a great link. Keep in mind that even if you install everything to sd card, as I do, the software still puts files and links into your main memory, so it will never be empty.
