.NET framework all kinds of trouble

Ok, I am about to rip my hair out. What is up with this .NET stuff. I admit that I have been basically ignoring it since I first heard about it about a year ago. Now I have an X5, 400mhz, wm2003 and I need it.
Here is the problem. I am trying to run applications and they all say they need .NET compact framework 1.1.4322. I started out with RTM 1.0.22.68.0 stock, then I go to Microsoft’s website and get the latest and greatest .NET compact framework SP3 (1.0.4292.0).
I install it and it says I still need the other one. What the heck. I have downloaded and installed every .NET framework that starts with 1.1 and installed it on my PC, but none of them let me install to the PPC. AAAAAA can someone please help me out and tell me where I can download what I need and what to do when I get it.

Thank you, Dustin

P.S. I have a folder /windows/Microsoft.net/framework/v1.14322. I have tried to do everything I can think of with the files in this folder and nothing. Thanks again

the link is in MyPDA. Once it is installed on your desktop, run the program (shortcut "Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 1.0 SP3 Installer") from your desktop start menu (while PPC on cradle with activesync running ). the program will then install .NET from your desktop to your PPC.
